Becca here! 👋 I’m going to use this account as an opportunity to take you on a journey through my architectural adventures! I’m an architect and designer in Dayton, Ohio. . Pictured is the J.K. McIntyre building located in the Webster station historic district in downtown Dayton. This building has a rich history and unique construction. . Now dubbed as the Manhattan, the Woodard development team has breathed new life into this Dayton gem. It’s named the Manhattan because it housed offices on the fourth and fifth floors for people working on the Manhattan project. Yup! You heard right—Dayton played a critical role in that project. Have no fear, no testing was done in here! . The building has a strong skeletal system with a complete concrete structure. The capitals of the columns are an eye-catching detail. . This project was awarded state and federal historic tax credits; historic drawings completed by @moda4design in partnership with the Woodard team and JudyWilliams, historic preservation consultant, consulting engineers IES electric, EnviroControl and Jack Putnam Engineering. .
